goldilocks and the three bears off to a hot-and-cold spontaneous trip
November 9, 2009Once upon a time there was a girl who could not figure out a name for her. Her feet were itching to travel on the weekend before her birthday, and so were her friends’. Initially, she thought and wished it were a snow-white-and-the-seven-dwarfs-trip but others were not available. Besides, Snow White was not the character that could come close to a description to her. Nonetheless, the trip pushed through, this time as a goldilocks-and-the-three-bears-trip even if her ‘bears’ wouldl insist it should be big-bad-wolf-and-the-three-little-pigs-trip. Sponteneous trip thay planned and spontaneous trip they had!… And they traveled happily ever after.
Hehehe.. I’m stopping it! I cannot blog like this. Plus, I remember somebody pointed out how much I like talking about myself from a third-person’s point of view: Emcee doesn’t like that. The world doesn’t revolve around Emcee. That’s in the Isidro Plan istead of saying that’s my plan.
So anyway, back to the spontaneous trip. After 2 airports and few minutes of discussion with Cebu Pacific desk lady, we figured air travel is not feasible. Too pricey. To late flights. Not so interesting early destinations. Plus I have to admit, I really wanted to go surfing. So we went to Partas Bus Terminal and took the 1st trip that would pass by La Union. We arrived at La Union at around 11.30am. Ate lunch, slept then SURFed! I wonder why didn’t I find the time to practice more even though I knew all along how much I love doing it. I’m totally into surfing (even though hindi siya nakikisama saken before. We had very great surf instructors. The waves are with us. The boys I’m with are very supportive (most of the times although there are still MB side comments)! Perfect weekend getaway. Later that night, instead of the alcohol-driven discussion, we were in a coffee-filled FB-assisted talk! Sa FB kami nag-uusap! Nakakaloka! Technology, what have you done to my friends? The following morning we surfed again until check-out time. Just when you think surfing on a spontaneous trip is good enough, a new idea comes up. Baguio! So in my beach mode clothes, we went to Baguio for some strolling, dinner and coffee! Spontaneous trip within a spontaneous trip. Caught the 12.30 am trip to Manila. Got some few things in the apartment then off to Batangas!
So well-spent leave. I don’t normally take birthday leaves because I’m too consumed with my pre-birthday syndromes to even plan but this year, although there is still the random moments of PBS, I think I coped up better.
To the three bears: Dino, Tristan, Bogchi, THANK YOU so much! Good times! Ride the wave! Dins, salamat sa non-stop bus chikahan! Set-up na tlga tayo ng talk-show ala Chico and Delamar! Dun tayo yayaman! hehe.. Tristan, salamat sa dog-cat relationship natin! one of dabest ka pa rin! Bogchi, salamat sa napakadami mong na-file na leave for this trip. Thanks sa best career talk of all time. hehe..
Goldilocks loves these bears as much as, or, perhaps more than she loves riding the waves. Even if she had one of the most testoterone-overloaded trip, this is one of the best times to be one of the boys!
