dos por dos
September 7, 2007 This week, Pekner Mikmik and I celebrate our second year in Sykes.
Wow Pekner! We're so great. Nagtagal din ako sa work sa wakas haha. Though we know that two years is too short a period to say that you've stayed long in a company, you know for a fact that that is already a milestone for me.
Anyway, I owe Cesar a lot for referring us here. For introducing us to what we thought would be just our buffer jobs. For opening our horizon to the wonderful yet misconceived world of BPO and graveyard shifts.
Same goes to BFF Jansen for our breakfast sessions at our comfort zone. For being the handy (?) driver/ drinking buddy / yosi buddy / QLC chatmate.
Of course, to the friends we gained here. The Puritas: Marilyn, Jo-Ann, Germs, Martha, Lulette. Your mommies circle: Eden, Claire, Joyce, etc. We wouldn't have stayed this long if not for their company.
To Chuck Sykes and Mike Henderson, thanks for the night differential, transpo allowances, meal allowance, OTs, VL and SL credits which up til now I feel I don't deserve. Mike H, you're like a suger daddy in disguise of a pirate, rock star (or whatever future character that suits you in year-end parties) to us. Haha! Bonus naman jan!
And to you Pekner…
I thank you not just for the gazillion times you make excuses for me so I can have longer lunch-outs, even gimiks within shift but for listening to my gimik chikkas even though they can be tiring at times.
Thanks not just for blindlessly accepting my need to have my nth yosi break but also for joining me for company sake at times because I can't smoke alone.
Thanks not just for the review periods which become chikahan sessions but also for believing I can work things out.
Thanks not just for letting me sleep at times but also for understanding and forgiving me for not making relyebo efforts… haha.
Thanks not just for letting me peek in your PC even though I can always open them on my own but thanks for analyzing these simple habits even I myself am not aware of.
Thanks for letting me beat you in bounce out, haha (we thought we had to call Yahoo Games support for that.) Thanks not just for the PEP updates but for listening to my mas madramang buhay.
I thank you not just for always getting water for me because I'm too lazy to get mine but for sharing the same laziness to wash the dishes. Pordat, let us thanks the manufactureres of disposable plates, spoon, fork, styro-cups and microwavable wares. hehe… Pero come to think of it. Hindi ako ganito katamad kung hindi ikaw ang Pekner ko. Napipilitan lang ako kasi baka mahiya kang ipakita ang true colors mo!
Well, I've known you since HS, naks, pero these last two years lang ako napaisip na " Aah, ok naman pala tong si Mikmik!" hehe.. jukas! Hangswerte ko Pekner kita! Cheers! Libre ka naman dyan!

i agree misconceived talaga ang world of outsourcing. pero i think isa yan sa mga pinakamasayang trabaho once you get used to the graveyard shifts. nagkakaron talaga ng new friends tapos ang daming gimiks after work.
it’s amazing that you can juggle your work and school schedule. congrats on your second year. congrats din kay pekner.
see yah monday! pasukan na naman.
