Haler?! Baler?!

Every Holy Week or any long weekend break, I cannot stand the thought of just staying home. I have a weird relationship with my family. I love them dearly but most of the times, our harmonious relationship has a shelf life of 2 days. Beyond that period, my mother starts to nag about my laziness, I start to get uber-bored and we end up arguing about anything. So when our Palawan trip finally did not push through I got really bothered. I just had to be anywhere but home during Holy Week. As in ANYWHERE!

With less than one week planning, I knew that I would be have a hard time asking friends to join me. We would have a hard time finding a place that will accomodate us with all these vacation spots fully-booked already. But then again, salamat sa todo text, todo tawag, power to the piso. Gabe, Tin and Cesar agreed to join. Gabe settled the reservations for our rooms.

Pero dahil super smooth-sailing ang mga pangyayari, kailangan may pakirawraw ng konti last minute. Kelangan talaga yon?! Cesar said that he could not join because his lola was still in the hospital. Mygolay! So Gabe had to cancel the reservations. Pero subalit datapwat, di pwedeng malakdawan ang 2007 Holy Week na walang ginagawa. At dahil pakirawraw lang naman si Cesar at di talaga pasaway na KJ sumama pa rin siya. Di mo ko matitiis Cesar alam ko yan! Then join na rin si Rey and Son.

So all set na. Instead of leaving Thursday, we decided to leave on Good Friday early morning. So nagkita-kita muna kami kina Gabe. Lafang, inom muna, konting chika at planning. 4am ay go na kami sa Genesis Terminal. Pero di natuwa ang nature sa mga last minute pakirawraw ni Cesar kaya na-test nanaman kami dahil walang byahe na papuntang Baler. As in nadrain bigla ang spirit ko nang makita ko ang nakapadlock na gate ng terminal. Kala ko hindi na kami matutuloy. Thanks to the model buses of ES Transport.

(+20) Thankfully, may byahe going to Baler.

(-800) Nakasabay namin sa jeep ang founder ng KJ Baler Chapter na si RJ na walang tigil ang bibig sa pagkkwento ng mga walang kakwenta kwentang bagay.

(+150) Binigyan nya kami ng baraha in fairness

(+205) Nalaman namin na Harpers talaga ang tawag sa mga pabidang tao na nagbabalance waves at nakasakay sa board. Who ever said na surfers ang tawag sa kanila?!

(-50) Wala na rooms sa AMCO (na AMCOR daw according to RJ)

(+60) May rooms pa sa RAS Garden

(+200) May masasabayan kaming truck na dadaan sa RAS Garden

(+500) Dahil spontaneous kami, di muna kami pumunta sa RAS. Instead, sumama kami sa truck na on the way pala sa falls.

(-200) Walang nagbebentang food kaya ultimate test ng Penitensya trip namin

(+100) Salamat sa paperbag with foodies goodies ni Son

(+100) Nagsimula na kami magsugal

(+150) May natira pa sa caterer ng food so nasolusyunan ang problema namin sa gutom 

(+500) Nag-goal setting kami para sa trip na to. *General Objective: to be as grover (grabe sa over) spontaneous as possible. *Specific Objectives: makareach ng 500 jokes si Tin; Mamaintain ang 5 butterfly clips with swarovski ni Son; ma-maintain pa rin ang penitensya spirit vis-s-vis the adventures. haha

(+300) Lumipat kami sa AMCO kung saan nagsiksikan kami sa 1 room pero may extra bathroom at pillowcases kami (as in pillowcases lang)

(+1500) Masarap ang tulog namin ng 2nd night kasi may nagsakripisyo. In fairness, may conscious effort na isang bata na icontrol ang kanyang sleeping habits. hehe

(-500) Di kami natuloy sa Mother Falls at sa pamosong Balete tree

(+2000) Pero ayus lang na di kami natuloy sa plans kasi ultimate test to ng aming spontaneity

(+1200) Ang systematic concept of sharing of expenses na tinatawag na Care of-care of. This has 3 stages: a) care of-care of   b) care of-pay-off   c) pay-off-pay-off

Obviously, all of us enjoyed the trip! Forget the math! Care of care of na yon! To the Harpers, thanks for the company! Can’t get over pa rin ako sa adventure plus the fact na masakit pa katawan ko. haha! Luv you all! mwaaaah!
